Hi Cori,

I found your site while searching for relatives of an acquaintance - Frank Imig - and wonder if you are related. Frank is in substance abuse treatment program in Florida and is estranged from his family - which is from Wisconsin. I became acquainted with Frank while my own son was there and rooming with him in a half-way house. Frank is very saddened by the distance that exists between he and his family. He is working very hard to overcome his battle with addiction, and his support of MY son has inspired me to try and help him in any way possible. So, I did a quick white pages search for Imig family members today and found you. If you are related to Frank, or even if you don't know for sure - if there is any way you can help me mend the break in his relationship with his family - I would truly appreciate it.

I do not know Frank well, and this is somewhat meddling in his business. But during one phone call (after I sent him a card) he expressed to me the regret he feels over the loss of that family relationship. Since my son is now out of rehab and doing well on his own, I want to help Frank - he faces many challenges.

I hope you do not find this completely strange, I am a normal mother of twins and am not trying to do some kind of internet scam. I really want to help this man get back on his feet. My e-mail address is twinkfarms@aol.com -

I think your project was a really cool idea, and if you are related, then it seems like Frank has a big support base to tap into.

I hope you get this.

All the best,
Wendy

Hey Cori,
Any chance I would be able to contribute? I wasn't on your mailing, guess now that I changed my name, I am not an official Imig, but still definitely one at heart.
What a fascinating thesis, can't wait to hear more about it!
Love, Kari

Hi,

My name is Lois and I am a librarian living in Boca Raton, FL. My father, Duane Imig, was born in San Jose, IL along with his many other brothers and sisters. I noticed one letter from Rebekah Imig. Her grandfather Floyd was my dad’s brother.

I graduated with a BA in History from U of MN and an MILS from U of MI. As a librarian, I love to read. I have never read James Patterson, sorry Rebekah. My reading tastes run from Romantic Suspense to serious political topics of today and yesterday. I can’t keep up with the numerous publications in this important election year.

I hope to move back to the upper Midwest in a year or two. Hurricanes are not a pleasant experience and South Florida has seen a few too many in recent years. I know ice storms are dangerous, but I love snow. I have lived in Michigan 3 times, and my favorite outdoor sport is snowshoeing. Here in sunny Florida, I rollerblade.

My sister Eunice also lives in Boca Raton and her son Jacob is finishing his freshman year at Florida State University. Jacob is in marching band at FSU and graduated from West Boca High, which has one of the best bands in the state of Florida!! Marching band competitions are the best!!

By brother David and his wife have 2 children and live in Texas.

Cori,

I am very impressed with the detail in which you have undertaken this project and wish you well. Just in terms of response, you are a success! I am amazed to see so many Imigs, and hope my sentences can be of help to you. I will be mailing my letter soon - I most certainly am looking forward to learning what I can from your project in the process.

Hi Cori,

What a great surprise getting your letter today! I'll send you my sentence asap, but wanted to tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing how your project develops, in the expected and unexpected ways.

I think most all Imigs feel a special affinity for our name, and with everyone else with the same name. I'm happy to know of you, and all the other Imigs I'll learn of through your site.

Best wishes!

Hi Cori,

I received your letter this week and was intrigued. I have been interested in the IMIG genealogy for years. I have been in contact with the Imig family historian in Pfalsdorf, Germany.

I will be sending off a response to your letter today. I wish you great success with your project.

I am very interested in the responses that are returned to you. Will these be posted?

Best of Luck,
Kurt Imig

Cori,

My brother in law, Robert Imig (New York City) forwarded me your link. He did so because of my genealogy of the Imig name and wondered if I could be of help, or at least maybe you could help me with responses you might get. I have good information on the WI clan but know that the branch swings wide.

Good luck with your project. It is very intriguing.
